The Internet and Its Social Impact 

Today, the internet has invaded every aspect of our lives. People use the internet to shop, to research, for entertainment, for communicating, and so much more... It has made the world seem smaller by allowing people to be more connected. But, for all its advantages, there are serious consequences involved in the rise of the internet and our increased dependence on its use.

• Effective communication using email and text-messaging services
• Improves business interactions, stimulating the economy and increasing revenue
• Best information QUICKLY
• Interchange of ideas and materials among all people, but especially researchers, doctors, scientists, etc.
• Access to millions of different sources (documenti, riviste, libri)

• People become too obsessed with their screens- Sacrificing quality time with friends + family
• The rise of social media platforms has led to dangerous addictions as well as a decrease in body confidence and self-esteem
• Not everyone has the same amount of access - creates a divide between people
• Easy availability of illegal or inappropriate materials (*Unit 3 - counterfeiting)

The Internet and Education 🖥️ 📚

Internet usage is becoming more popular among younger populations, and people are seeing the need for technology to achieve success in the job market. So, many schools are starting to integrate more digital platforms and assignments into their buildings and curriculum.

Italy is a little behind the United States in that educators recognize the importance of learning how to manage technology, but are still hesitant to make the transition from a traditional school to a digital school...
